An Executive Decision

Yep, I've made one. I have decided that in order to see that there is progress being made that I will knit the sleeve cuffs first and then the waist band. That way, not only can I see finished elements of the sweater, but I can also wear the cuff bands as wristlets while I work on the rest of the sweater :-) What ever it takes to get me through, right?

  • I know someone who always knits the sleeves first to see if her gauge is working or if she decides she is not happy with her yarn choice for the pattern. It really is a good idea because if you are not pleased with the results there is less to frog. Do you knit both of your sleeves at the same time or separately?

  • On my last 2 sweaters I did knit the sleeves together on one and separately on the other. Knitting 2 at once requires me to pay more attention so that I am knitting from the right ball and doing the same thing on both. I'm a t.v. knitter because it's the only time that I can find to actually do any big knitting. I do sneak socks into meetings, but a sweater might be much.

Knitting both sleeves at once does insure that they are both the same. hmmm... thanks fiberbliss, now I have to rethink my decision to do them separately!

  • I'm doing the sleeves first, too, so I could practice the cable. I think it's a good decision (and if you get bored later, at least you'll have those cool wristwamers!)
